This unique long-distance hiking experience is so popular, we are repeating the pilgrimage along the Via Podiensis. The first written account of the walk from Le Puy en Velay to Santiago dates from the 10th century, more than one thousand years ago! It takes us 25 days to walk from Le Puy to Moissac with a daily average of about 11 miles; however, it may be possible to join the small group for only part of the way. Anybody thinking of walking to Santiago de Compostela ought to consider beginning the journey in Le Puy.

Kilimanjaro is the highest point on the African continent at 19,340 feet and takes no technical skills to climb. Nowhere else on earth can you see as far as from the top of Kilimanjaro. To ensure the greatest success in summiting Kilimanjaro we will be trekking on the longest and most remote route, the Lemosho Route. If it's been a dream of yours to climb this beautiful mountain, don't let this opportunity pass you by! Kilimanjaro is surrounded by national parks that contain some of the densest concentrations of wild animals in Africa. It's here that one of the largest migrations in the world has been preserved -- it includes over a million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles, and their accompanying predators. A safari to see all this wildlife is the perfect way to decompress from the hard climb up Kilimanjaro. Small group limited to 14 participants. Level: Climb strenuous; safari easy. This trip is run in cooperation with Sierra Club National Outings.

Wikipedia describes Oregon as: “…diverse, with windswept Pacific beaches, volcano-studded Cascade Mountains, abundant waterfalls, dense evergreen forests, ... and high desert sprawling across much of its east all the way to the Great Basin."

Active 14 day adventure to explore the wilds of southern Chile and Argentina(Patagonia). Meet in the adventure center town of El Calafate in Patagonia before crossing the border into Chile.Hike for five days in the spectacular Torres del Paine National Park, touring around the stunning glaciated landscapes of the “Towers.” The hikes are easy to strenuous, and all afford views of the majestic peaks and remnants of enormous glaciers. Returning to Argentina, we travel by boat across Lago Argentino, passing huge icebergs and brash ice, to view the massive terminus of the Perito Moreno Glacier in Los Glacieres National Park. A side trip takes us to a local Patagonia estancia (ranch) on the edge of the pampas to experience a traditional lifestyle and enjoy a fabulous “asado” (grill). We then venture to El Chalten to hike around the famous Mt. Fitzroy area. Our hikes take in lovely glacial lakes and beech forests. We embark on a long walk to a very special stay in a small private lodge overlooking Fitzroy, enjoying hearty breakfasts before our hikes and gourmet dinners after! Farewell dinner here before heading across the plains back to El Calafate and the next adventure.
