Thank you for volunteering for the Sierra Club Angeles Chapter.  We have a variety of openings for new volunteers available right now.  Below is a list of opportunities that may interest you!  Our work is driven by impassioned volunteers just like you!

Seeking Volunteers

Fundraising Committee - New Fundraising Committee seeks members! Do you like to have fun? Who doesn’t like to have fun?  The Angeles Chapter has established a new Fundraising Committee spearheaded by the newly appointed chair, Samuel Loy.  Samuel is seeking a group of fun individuals who want to help put the FUN in FUNdraising! if you would like to join him, please contact Ron Silverman at ron.silverman@sierraclub.org. You don’t have to have vast fundraising experience; you don’t need fundraising experience at all - although if you do, then we sure want you! All you need is an interest in having a good time while shaping and executing fundraising opportunities to ensure that the Angeles Chapter has enough revenue to achieve all its goals. Creative ideas and people welcomed. 

Organic Waste Project volunteers - Support our efforts to keep compostable organics out of landfills.  Sign up today! 

Sierra Sage Group/Southern Orange County Volunteers needed -  Assistant Membership Chair to assist in contacting new and prospective Sierra Club members. If interested, contact Kaye Clarence.  Hospitality Chair to coordinate refreshments and welcome participants at Sierra Club meetings in Southern Orange County.  If interested, contact Patty Sappingfield.  Publicity Assistants join our team working to facilitate relationships with local media outlets.  If interested, contact Mike Sappingfield.

Pasadena Group Volunteers needed - Volunteer opportunities include: planning and participating in community outreach events, hosting informal meetings and social events, greeting those attending our monthly meetings, maintaining our email address list, and developing membership contacts via social media. If interested, contact Elizabeth Pomeroy.

Help rebuild trails in the Angeles Forest - Join the Angeles Forest Restoration Project to volunteer with work crews to restore hiking trails in the burn areas of the Angeles Forest.  Contact Bob Cates.

Santa Monica Mountains Trailwork - Volunteers needed every Saturday now through June to help build and maintain trail in the Santa Monica Mountains.  8:30am-2pm.  For more info, click here.

Political Action Volunteers - work in L.A. County or Orange County to promote environmentally sensitive candidates for public office. Be part of the endorsement process, help campaign for candidates and maintaining relationship with elected officials.  In L.A. County contact Howard Strauss.  In Orange County contact Sharon Koch.

Conservation Activist - Volunteer activists promote livability in their communities by organizing to promoted everything from land preservation and public transportation to air quality and sustainable consumption.  Click here for a complete list of projects.  Contact Jennifer Robinson or George Watland if interested. 

San Onofre Task Force Communications Coordinator - Volunteer to produce and post messages, notices, and articles on the Listserv, Facebook, Twitter, and Angeles Chapter website about the task force activities related to the San Onofre Nuclear Facility including hearings by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the California Public Utilities Commission.  Contact Glenn Pascall, Chair.
